We are looking for a Test Engineer who will thoroughly inspect our products before they’re launched.

As a Test Engineer in Alertive, you will work closely with the production team to understand why we’re building a product and what the specific requirements are. Then, you will assist in a series of tests through all stages of production to identify potential malfunctions and recommend improvements.

Key requirements

  • Previous experience of manual software testing, either scripted or exploratory
  • Exposure to SDLC principles
  • Knowledge of common software architecture
  • Exposure to web technology concepts
  • Experience with mobile testing
  • Exposure to software testing concepts (e.g. manual vs automated testing, exploratory testing, functional testing, end-to-end testing, usability testing)

Day to Day Responsibilities

  • Test functional and non-functional areas of the product using a variety of testing tools and techniques
  • Help to define, execute and record detailed test plans and scripts
  • Work towards departmental and project deadlines
  • Participating in test reviews
  • Assist in providing test estimates and plans
  • Reviewing documentation and helping to define key acceptance criteria
  • Collaborate well with other team members and stakeholders
  • Develop an understanding of Alertive's user's requirements, needs, and processes
  • Develop a broad understanding of the Alertive product set and how it functions

Beneficial Experience

  • Exposure to networking concepts
  • Experience with cloud-based software (e.g. Amazon Web Services or similar)
  • Exposure to networking concepts and protocols
  • Basic understanding of databases and SQL
  • ISEB/ISTQB Foundation Qualification

Competitive salary range starting at £25,000 - £30,000 depending on experience.
