Application Support Developer

We are looking for a full-time experienced Application Support Developer to proactively and reactively diagnose and troubleshoot application problems raised by our customers. You will be a champion application troubleshooter, naturally proactive, and passionate about Healthtech.

The role is a key part of the Support Team who is responsible for providing a high-quality service 24/7 to our customer base. This involves both pro-active mechanisms such as monitoring systems and service reviews whilst maintaining the ability to quickly respond to any problems.

What the job involves: Key Responsibilities

  • Support and development of our application ecosystem
  • Maintain a good understanding of our customer’s business practices/procedures, business drivers, and culture.
  • Problem solve and bug fix at a code level
  • Deliver efficient and re-usable code
  • Spec out and deliver customer application enhancements
  • Maintain an understanding of new Alertive product development and projects
  • Keep up to date with new technology trends and development
  • Manage access and control of Alertive infrastructure and systems
  • Continually drive forward and improve any monitoring systems
  • Assist with application configuration and upgrades
  • Help develop procedures and documentation


  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript (react.js & typescript experience advantageous) and database technologies
  • A problem-solver who is able to systematically think through the facts, diagnose the situation, and find accurate and workable solutions in potentially pressurised situations.
  • A proficient level of technical proficiency and ​exposure to cloud-based systems such as Azure/AWS would be beneficial
  • Experience in supporting over the entire software development lifecycle
  • Strong communication skills and experience of speaking with customers


Salary up to 30K depending on experience.

Our Location

Alertive is headquartered in Derby and we operate as a remote team enabling talent from all over the UK to join our mission.

Occasional travel to Derby would be expected to join in and be part of the team culture.
